What barcode does Shopify use?

Shopify accepts EAN-13, UPC-A, ISBN and CODE128. EAN-13 is the most widely accepted for physical products.

Does Shopify check barcode validity?

Shopify stores whatever barcode you enter. For selling through retail channels or Google Shopping, use a GS1-registered barcode.

Can I use a free barcode for Shopify?
